Colleen Ryan

Colleen Ryan is an intern with Ryan&Associates focused primarily on special project research.  Colleen is a senior at Cookeville (Tennessee) High School where she serves as Editor in Chief of “The Charger,” CHS’ award winning newspaper; and as President of the Cookeville High School “Interact” club — a high school component of Rotary International.

Colleen has traveled to three continents outside North America and has plans to visit all seven continents some day.  In 2006 she accompanied a three-week summer study (University of Tennessee Political Science) student group to Beijing, Xian, Chengdu, and Shanghai, living and studying alongside college students at several universities and visting sights of interest in China.  In 2011 she participated in a Rotary humanitarian service project in Ateiku, Ghana, working alongside American medical professionals in a mobile clinic and visiting rural schools to distribute classroom supplies and athletic gear.  For her humanitarian work in Ghana she received the Rotary President’s Citation and was named a “Paul Harris Fellow.” Colleen has visited the United Kingdom several times as well as travel through France and Italy.

Colleen was captain of the Cookeville HS “Academic WorldQuest” team that competed in the Tennessee World Affairs Council’s 2012 State Championship Match.  In the summer of 2012 she was selected for the American Legion “Girl’s State” program at Lipscomb University and the Tennessee Governor’s School for International Studies.  The latter is a prestigious, four-week intensive course of study at the University of Memphis.

Colleen will begin her college studies in the Fall of 2013 and international service, humanitarian work and the legal profession are among her career interests.
